Stop by the Dartmouth Seniors Centre and pick up the 40th Anniversary of the centre cookbook. Cook books are $12 and all recipes were supplied by our members.
We are pleased to have two Dalhousie nursing students join us once again at the centre: Wednesday mornings 9:00am-12 noon, September 21 - November 30, 2016. The nurses, Jessica and Shanda will be able to answer questions you have concerning your medications, take blood pressure, measure blood sugar levels, hand out Vile of Life containers as well as help take care of whatever health related needs you may have. Please feel free to approach them with any questions or concerns you may have or even just to chat.
The Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre has many volunteer opportunities available! However we are currently in need of drivers and runners for the Meals on Wheels program that works directly with the community! We want to expand our services to untouched areas of Dartmouth where adults are in need of meal services. If you or anyone you know is interested in this opportunity please contact us by phone or very easily here through our Contact Us form.

In 1976 our founder Connie Wenaus had a dream and the Dartmouth Seniors' Service Centre was founded. Since then DSSC has been providing activities and services which may not otherwise readily available in our community. Through the support of our members, donors and various government departments and service groups the Dartmouth Seniors' Service Centre has continued to grow and thrive. DSSC offers various social, physical, and educational programs with the aim of bettering and enriching the lives of seniors in our community. From monthly dances to craft classes you will find that there is something for everyone at DSSC. Our mission is to support seniors and their families through programs and services.
The Dartmouth Seniors' Service Centre also offers daily meals both in our dining room as well as to our Meals on Wheels clients (Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday). Cook Matt Jordan and his staff proudly prepare our meals with the nutritional needs of seniors in mind and meal cards may be purchased at a very reasonable price.
One common misconception is that the Dartmouth Seniors' Service Centre is strictly for the enjoyment of the residents of the Nantucket Place which they share a building with. Although DSSC does have many members from "upstairs" they are open to anyone 50 and over in the Dartmouth Community....and their families. So please come join us. We would love to meet you!
